FRIGE-ISPAT Analysis and interpretation of NGS data in clinic workshop

This exciting and informative hands-on 1-day workshop is for professionals in clinical, medical and
biomedical genetics who want to learn methodologies for analysis and interpretation of complex
dataset generated by next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies.

Designed for scientists and clinicians, this online workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of
the theory and practical approaches to identifying disease causing variants from NGS data using
publicly available computational tools, databases and pipelines. The workshop will also cover
methods of assessing pathogenecity of a variant in accordance with the ACMG-AMP guidelines.
During the workshop, participants will learn to identify disease causing variants from real-world NGS
data (targeted gene panel and whole exome sequencing).

Due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, the workshop will be conducted via an online interactive
platform and will include 3 sessions of 2 hours each, which are as follows:

  1. Introduction to NGS and datasets
  2. Examples of dataset analysis and interpretation
  3. Case illustration and real-time data analysis

Workshop instructor:

Dr. Harsh Sheth is the Head of Advanced Genomic Technologies Division at FRIGE’s Institute of Human
Genetics, Ahmedabad. He has over 8 years of experience in analysis and interpretation of NGS and
other high-throughput technologies data. He has also invented several NGS based technologies which
are currently deployed in healthcare settings and for which he holds an international patent, over 25
publications and 2 book chapters.
