The Role
Exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Junior Research Fellow to work on two cutting-edge biotechnology studies:
- Delineating the genetic architecture of repeated foetal loss
- Development of AAV based gene therapy for the inborn errors of metabolism disorders
Fellows will work at the interface of our cutting-edge R&D as well as clinical genetics teams.
Fellows will play a key role in the conduct of laboratory, analytical, data acquisition, and communication work. Fellows will have the opportunity to learn and contribute towards in-depth aspects of molecular biology, cell biology, gene cloning, cell culture, and computational analysis.
Fellows shall have a BSc or an MSc in biological sciences i.e. biotechnology, genetics, medical genetics or computational biology. You will support the conduct of ongoing clinical and R&D activities within the institute. You will have the opportunity to develop your role into PhD in line with the UGC norms.
Qualifications (for both positions)
- BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in biological sciences i.e. biotechnology, genetics, medical genetics or computational biology.
- CSIR-NEET or GATE qualified (Desirable)

- Previous research publications (Desirable)
Key Accountabilities
- Support and conduct day-to-day R&D and clinical activities associated with the given projects
- Participate and develop specialised R&D activities inlcuding ongoing and newly designed assays
- Publish and present high level scientific information including writing and presenting reports relevant to the work being carried out as part of the translational research
- Support the submission of research proposals to funders where appropriate
- Regular liaison with the principal investigator(s) and senior members of the R&D teams to discuss ongoing research and next possible steps
